Sterling Silver ?

925 Sterling Silver contains 92.5% of pure silver and 7.5% of other metals such as copper. The 99.9% pure fine silver is generally too soft to producing large object like jewelry. Therefore, the pure silver will usually be alloyed with copper to give it strength while at the same time preserving the beauty of the precious metal. The word “sterling”, used in reference to the 0.925 grade of silver.
